Dear Friends,
Here is information about Amics de la Música Clàssica and how to become a regular member.
It costs 18 Euros a year - 30 Euros a year for a couple - you break even after you attend a few concerts, and after that you save money on each concert.
Members receive one or two newsletters a year, plus announcements of other special events.
Members also receive a reduction on the price of tickets to our concerts.
Thanks for your interest.

Patrick Meadows

WHAT IS AMICS DE LA MUSICA CLASSICA?

Amics de la música clàssica (Alma Concerts) was formed in 1985 as a non-profit association dedicated to the following ends:
  • Organize concerts and festivals of classical music
  • Encourage master classes and other learning opportunities for students and young musicians
  • Offer possibilities to young artists to perform in public
  • Promote music courses and contests
  • Organize any other activity that will help achieve these ends.

The founders of the association were Patrick Meadows, Stephanie Shepard, Antoni Colomar, and Josefina Sintes, all residents of Deià.

The stable activities of the association have been:
  • The International Festival of Deià (1978 to the present)
  • The Concerts on the Grass in The Real Golf Club of Bendinat (1986-1996)
  • Classics of the Xxth Century in the Bartolemeo March Foundation of Palma (1987-1997)
  • Sunset Concerts in Son Marroig (1983-present)
  • Winter Concerts in the Hotel La Residencia (1983-1996)
The Deià Festival has received over the years financial assistance from the Consell Insular de Mallorca, the Consellería de Educación y Cultura, the savings bank Sa Nostra, The British Council, the Hotel La Residencia, as well as private donations.

Members receive the following benefits from the association:
  • Reduction of the price of tickets to the concerts
  • quarterly newsletters about future concerts organized by Amics de la Música Clàssica (and other entities)
  • Up-to-date information about changes in the programming.
  • Occasional reunions of members, usually for lunch and a concert
  • Meet artists for dinner after concerts (by advance invitation only)
Often we can provide classical music for house music concerts and special occasions.
If you don´t have a piano, we can provide a harpsichord or, when available, a string quartet.
